The Black Forest is a forested, mountainous region in Southwest Germany. It is replete with picturesque villages, evergreen forests, fairy tale castles and epic roads. A truly magnificent, awe-inspiring location to ride your motorcycle.
Redee Motorcycle Tours design tours to take in the very best roads on offer and the B500 is a true classic, offering everything you could want in a road to ride your motorcycle. As such the B500 is the centre-piece of this Black Forest tour.
If you want a tour with roads to remember, magnificent vistas, charming hotels and culture at every stop, then this is the tour for you.
Day One. Meeting at The Airport Cafe (Ashford) for introductions, tour briefing and outline of the day ahead. From The Airport cafe you will be heading for the Euro Tunnel and swift passage across the Channel.
Once in France, its a quick motorway hop before passing through Lille, continuing through the magnificent Scarpe-Escaut & l'Avesnois National Parks before crossing the border into Belgium and onto your hotel for the evening.
This hotel is perfectly situated in a stunning location on the shoreline of Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure, one of the largest lakes in Belgium, ensuring you a peaceful night after a long day in the saddle.
Day Two. Today sees you return to France where you will explore much of what scenic northern France has to offer. You will then ride through the beautiful Ardennes National Park on your return leg to Belgium. If you've not been to the Ardennes before you are in for a magical experience; you ride through glorious forest, dart and dive on stunning hill and mountain roads and glide through beautiful towns.
Your route takes in the atmospheric town of Neufchâteau, situated at the heart of the Ardennes, where you can recharge at one of the many cafes. Continuing onward riding through Luxembourg (crossing the entire country) following the course of the River Sûre before making the final border crossing of the day into Germany and Rhineland-Palatinate state and onto riverside town of Mettlach.
Here we stop overnight at a small family owned hotel, where the owners have adapted to the special needs of motorcyclists. Two-wheelers will find free, secure and covered shelters keeping your pride and joy safe and secure.
Day Three. Once breakfast has been consumed and bikes packed, day 3 sees you continuing through the beautiful forest covered state of Rhineland-Palatinate, passing through the cities of Sankt wendel, Schönenberg-Kübelberg and Pirmasens before crossing the Rhine and into the stunning town of Baden-Baden.
From here you ride the first section of the iconic B500, the highway of The Black Forest. For the uninitiated this road is simply superb, a dream introduction to motorcycling heaven. The B500 must rank in the top 10 of European roads for motorcycling, if you don't enjoy riding this road we'd be most disappointed.
Eventually though all good things come to an end and so today ends at your hotel for the evening in the truly gorgeous town of Forbach.
Day Four. Today is the day you ditch the luggage and ride light. This is a circular route taking you along the twisting, darting and sometimes fast roads that typify riding a motorcycle in the Black Forest; if day one of riding in the The black forest was good then day two will be a true motorcycling delight.
You will be taking in a mixture of roads, ranging from fast bends, tight switchbacks and steep inclines. But today isn't all about the ride, its also about the stunning views, getting the camera out and taking photographs!
The route continues through Bad Wildbad, Nagold and Sulz am Necker where you complete the second section of the B500 as it takes you on a glorious rollercoaster ride back to the hotel in Forbach.
Day Five. First order of the day - ride the third section of the glorious B500 for more darting, diving, twisting and turning heaven. before passing through the town of Freudenstadt. Freudenstadt is famous for its Marktplatz square.
The biggest in Germany and almost a perfect square in shape, it is lined with striking historical structures and pretty buildings with beautiful arcades that house dozens of small boutiques.
The 50 water fountains create a lighthearted and upbeat ambiance and are the perfect place to cool off after a morning in the saddle. Continuing onward with more challenging roads, you will wend your way through forested hills and beautiful valleys heading to the more southerly regions of the Black Forest and finally to your hotel for the next two nights. This hotel is a boutique family run hotel in the heart of the village of Lenzkirch.
The hotel is situated above Lake Titisee with its splendid views of Feldberg Mountain. The hotel sits beautifully in mountains 1000 metres above sea level making it the perfect base for your next two days riding and exploring the southern most reaches of The Black Forest.
Day Six. Another light and luggage free day - and yet another section of the B500. Twisties are again the order of the day, as this circuit has an abundance of hairpins, switchbacks and chicanes. But that's not all; you will breathe clean mountain air, stop to take in the magnificent vistas, take beautiful photographs, eat great food, and drink great coffee.
Today is the day to immerse yourself in southern Germany's culture, cuisine, hospitality and above all its fabulous roads and a welcome return to your hotel to wine, dine and reminisce about a fabulous day.
Day Seven. Today you will load the luggage again and experience another stunning day of twisties in The Black Forest as you ride back towards France, following the stunning Rhine valley for short way taking a hop across The Rhine itself - and the border back into France.
You then slingshot around the city of Mulhouse for even more twists and turns, villages and vistas as you travel through the woods and valleys of Ballons des Vosges National Park - settling down for the evening at hotel in Le Bonhomme, Alsace.
Your hotel has been specifically chosen for its stunning location literally 5 minutes from the ski resorts and roads of Alsace.
Day Eight. Today starts with a continental breakfast second to none, setting you up for the penultimate day of your tour with "Redee Motorcycle Tours". Today you will be traversing the Vosges mountain range with its stunning geography and equally stunning roads.
Continuing through the Vosges area of France, you will ride again through the atmospheric town of Neufchâteau, on-to Reims, where you will take in The circuit Reims-Gueux, former Grand Prix circuit where you can still see the remains of pit buildings, grandstands and indeed ride the majority of this former road circuit to this day.
Its then just a short ride to our last hotel of the tour, located on the shoreline of Lake l'Ailette, an ode to peace and tranquillity on the banks of Lake Ailette, in Picardy region and a fitting final night to a truly memorable experience.
The Hotel is reminiscent of those long, low hotels across the Atlantic, built in stunning landscapes with rooms open to nature's finest displays. You will not find a finer place to celebrate a fabulous tour. Enjoy....
Day Nine. The final day of your "Redee Adventure" is an easy ride (although still with added interest and sites to see) through the holy district of Laon, which rises a hundred metres above the otherwise flat Picardy plain and onto the equally historic and atmospheric city of Cambrai. Before a quick jaunt along the Peage (motorway) to Calais and the Euro Tunnel home to good ole Blighty.
Once back on home soil its a short ride back to where it all began - The Airport Cafe for a chance for us to say our final thanks and goodbyes to you our "Redee Adventurers".
