We strongly recommend you bring sturdy but waterproof luggage to ensure your personal belongings stay dry.
Keep in mind that you will normally have to carry your own luggage to and from the hotels and up and down hotel staircases. Suitcases with wheels may not work well on dirt or cobblestone roads.
Travellers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices.
We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. Our 'Touring Tips' section of the website includes suggested packing items.
Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. We are unfortunately unable to arrange visas on your behalf.
If you do require a visa you can arrange them yourself or use the services of a travel agent or visa processing company.
It's important that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date travel health information for the region you will be visiting. The only one qualified to provide you with this advice is your family GP or a specialist from a Travel Health clinic.
We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to explore some of the beautiful locations we stop at. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience.
You can expect up to 10 travellers on a trip but the average is 8. Check individual tour pages for maximum group sizes.
To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. There are no upper age limits for most of our tours. Also, travellers with pre-existing medical conditions are required to complete a medical questionnaire.
Most of our trips do have a single supplement. This is only applicable if you were wanting your own room to yourself and not share with anyone else.
This is selected by picking the “1 Person Not Sharing'' option when booking. If you select the “1 Person Sharing” option, this means that the accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, you will be sharing a room with another Redee traveller of the same gender.
Starting and ending hotels are listed on your travel voucher and in the Trip Details document. We use a variety of hotels en-route and so a complete list of hotels won't be provided until day 1 of your tour.
If your family requires contact information, or in case of emergency, please have them phone 0330 321 8959. If our office is closed this number will divert to the director who is on duty who will have a communication link to the tour guides.
This number can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It's extremely difficult if not impossible to join a tour after it has begun. It is possible to leave a tour early however you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour.
You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving one early.
If you feel this may be necessary please consult a Redee team member before you book your adventure.
For privacy reasons we cannot provide you with advance details on your traveling companions. However, our tours appeal to a wide range of travellers, most of whom share an adventurous spirit and a desire to experience these destinations at a grass-roots level.
Our tours are conducted in English and so they attract many travellers from North America, UK and Europe.
Yes, in most cases we can arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels, excluding European tours. Please contact a Redee team member for price information.
